In the Eyes of a Customer in line at the Deli Counter:
Thin or thick that is the question,
Whether 'tis more right to be thin sliced or thick slice
The clerks never get it right, how outrageous fortune,
Should I go complain to the manager on duty about the messy slicers, the messy counters
And by saying something get it clean; or shut up and get my slice
The heartache from the fatty greasy ham.
That ham so greasy its bound to give me heartburn; tis perfect.
Devoutly to be wish'd. To slice, or not to slice;
For in that slice what sandwich dreams may come,
When we have gotten our meat and are at home.
Must give us pause- the savory smells
That makes our wait worthwhile.
