Review: Merry Wives of Windsor BBC Production

This production of the Merry Wives of Windsor is one that will be greatly enjoyed with the reading of the Play.   I hope you find that the story can be taken from a feminist perspective as the women are cunning and in control of the action.   The play's origin is debated.  One version was that the Queen requested one more play with Falstaff in it.  She commanded that she wanted one more Play , "and to shew him in Love."  Falstaff being liking a drunk sailor, or a drunken donkey falls in love with everyone, if a chair had tits he would have fallen in love with the chair.  I believe that this play was an homage to the Italian Tradition of Comedia Del Arte.
